FIVE STEPS TO SHOOT THE PERFECT LIPDUB

A Lipdub is an event done in universities, companies and groups of friends around the world for entertainment and / or promotion and it helps to strengthen the relationship between students and workers and, at the same time, it promotes the organizer.

A good lipdub should have, or at least seems to have, the following characteristics:
  • Spontaneity: It`s like someone thought up the idea on the spot, took his personal video camera, and said Hi everybody, let's do like we sing this song.
  • Participation: A lipdub is not just one person's lip sync, but a group where all participants do the lip sync together in an untrue spontaneous effort, which seems to communicate the attitude and mood of the song.
  • Fun: The People need to have fun doing it.
  • Authenticity: Participants, production and the situation must seem real.
  • Imagination: The video should be original, surprising and funny.
If you want to try, you'll have a lot of work to do.  Good luck!

LIPDUB - Weir House 2010

The Weir House, located in Wellington (New Zealand), residents of 2010 lipdub to 'My House' by Kids of 88. Also featuring 'We No Spaek Americano' by Yolanda Be Cool & DCUP. A lipdub that shows us the Weir House facilities.

Organised by Katherine O'Donnell an filmed by Ollie Neas.

Technically, we say, …. We’ve seen better. The lipdub begins in a chaotic way with the camera moving blurred and very fast between participants, upstairs, downstairs without being able to focus on characters. With the change of song, the video improved a lot with a beautiful masks dance where the camera become a little bit more stable with smoother motion and goes outdoor where the umbrellas improve the final result.

Weir House is a student Hall of Residence owned by Victoria University of Wellington and has been providing accommodation for students and other visitors since March 1933. The House is located in Kelburn's 'Grand Circle', overlooking the city and the harbour, and is less than five minutes from the Victoria University's Kelburn campus or to the city by Cable Car.

LIPDUB // Five - Keep On Movin' (U. Pacífico)

Here’s a traditional lipdub and one of the first lipdub from Chile. Filmed by Joaquín Molina, they present us their University.

About 40 students present their University with music and lipdub. After a nice beggining, the lipdub takes place in a conventional way from one scene to another and from one place to another. The lipping is good and the camera move is smooth. Without the presence of any original scene, we found it quite simple. We hope it will inspire others to do lipdubs in Chile. ;)

More information about Chile

Chile is the country of contrast and great beauty. It is the longest and narrowest country in the continent.

North: Lies the Atacama Desert, the driest of the world.

Center: The Mediterranean landscape gives life to Santiago, the capital, surrounded by fertile wine-producing valleys and modern ski resort.
At 3.790 km. from the continent is "Isla de Pascua" (Easter Island), with a unique culture and archaeological heritage.

South: Lakes, wild rivers, volcanos and native forest allows a close contact with nature. And the Chiloe island, considered as a paradise of the world, is home of a friendly people, creator of fantastic myths.
In the Patagonia, fiords and icy fields receive genuine spirit adventures and in the Antarctic, you can discover the magic of life in a surrounding of everlasting ices.

Lipdub - Gykai - Mažeikiuose

This is the first lipdub made in Lithuania! It has the particularity to offer us some very good things and launch the lipdub concept in Lithuania. A lipdub to discover a country.

Organizers: Vytautas Motuzas and Alvydas Opulskis

It was filmed in a open space by fourty young people, this funny video is appreciated by our Lipdub World Team.

This Lipdub has a good image quality, the cameraman was able to keep an acceptable image stability. The lipping is quite good and what more we liked the song. All this things make this lipdub ;)

In the end, and despite minor mistakes, our team found that lipdub on the average. Congratulations to the organizers and participants!

Let's vote!

LipDub - A kind of magic - Magicians of Israel

We can find a lot of lipdubs in the web, but our team like this because it's the first lipdub based on a particular theme, magic. Very original!

The uniqueness of this lipdub is the characteristic way of using the topic of magic tricks as a conductive thread . Preparatory work is really well done, giving the impression that magic arises naturally and spontaneously.

Despite the comments about if it is or not a lipdub, we think it has all the requirements to be considered as one because, is one shot, the participants do the lipdub better than others and it finishes with magicians all singing together.
From the technical point of view has a good light, in general, a good stability of the image and a good edition.

The video has a simple but worked choreography. It seems us a big tribute to magicians and the legendary band Queen. In the Lipdub are involved at least 50 people very well coordinated. You can find famous magic tricks, like the guy who drops his head, another holding fire with his fingers...

The Organizer:

Roy Zaltsman is a professional mentalist and the organizer of the annual Magic At the Red Sea convention. He also released 'The Roy DVD' this year. When he saw the LipDub concept he decided to come up with a special idea of his own...

The participants in this LipDub clip are all professional and amateur magicians.

We hope you enjoy it as much as we did. lol

What do you think About?

Lip Dub PWr

Let's be completely honest, our Mundo Lipdub's team is fascinated!. Despite having being filmed at night, so the lighting is not the best at all times, waste of imagination, character, dynamism... everything is TERRIFIC!. Undoubtedly, the best of this month.

This libdub, that includes a tribute to famous animation and video games characters, has fascinated us! This video has been realized in Poland by the Politechniki Wroclawskiej. The choice of the music was complicated and after valuing the possibility of using different songs, the copyright rules won the art and the best music option was " A little less conversation" of Elvis Presley vs jxl.
The most surprising effects are: zip line, the slot machine's girl, great human dominoes, the feeling of " don't go away yet, we have more" just after the shot, the acrobatics on the wall, the race of all kinds of vehicles at the parking (we have seen up to a canoe) and the final umbrellas' dance with the camera rising step by step looking for the final apoteosis.
We know that good technical devices have been used for filming this lipdub and in addition it has a great choreography, execution and creativity in spite of the camera sometimes moves too fast and does that some scenes remain a little bit blurry.
This lipdub has a technical high level, a great planning and a demonstrated waste of imagination but it might have shone much more if they could have chosen the music without usual problems with copyright.

Finally we want to propose you a game, look for the different characters who appear at the video:
  • Wally
  • Supermario disappearing and appearing
  • Transformers
  • Characters from Grease
  • Indiana Jones
  • Superman
Some of them appears more than once.
We want to encourage you to see and vote it.
Enjoy. lol

Dalhousie Student Union- California Girls- Lip Dub

The "Dalhousie Student Union" presents this LipDub with Katy Perry song "California Gurls." This video is characterized by an excellent planning and a great performance. Enjoy!!!

This is Dalhousie Student Union's first lipdub, was recorded in one shot and Gillian Fung, Sarah Bouchard and Logan Astle are responsible of choreography and direction.

Technically the video is very well done, lip dubbing and lighting are very good. We especially like the elevator scene, and although we had seen this kind of "pause" in the LIP DUB UPF" Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go "- Barcelona, 2010) , is interesting.

We would have liked to see more participants because sometimes the scene is a bit empty which makes it all a little cold.

Achieving a lipdub is a good way to integrate everyone, especially students who come from outside and make them feel part of something. Congratulations!

Let's vote!!

LIPDUB UWH - Experience Transformation

This Lipdub was made by students, staff and teachers from all faculties of the University of Witten-Herdecke (UWH). It was recorded on July 24th.

Story begins with a very long intro where there is a person who is alone and has a gray life, bored and everything goes wrong. His life changes when he join to the UWH. At this moment life becomes a party where all the girls are very pretty and, of course, boys are freaks.

The use of costumes and masks provides a colorful and carnival atmosphere to lipdub, emphasizing the festive nature of it.

From the technical point of view the quality and image stability is very good, it has the right lighting and a pleasant colorful moments. Good job guys!

Galician LIPDUB - Blame it on the pop

This lipdub called “Galician Lipdub” is great, but we should consider it a video clip more than a lipdub because it is not filmed in a shot but it is a fragments assembly. Anyway, this very elaborate and good editing. Great fun, don’t let see it.

We have been impressed for this masterful video. A great job, well done. The best of this month.

You can follow the song words:

I know you want pop, you want dance, you want rock and roll
You wanted boom boom? This year`s remix got symphonic soul
I got pop, I got dance, I got rockin' electronic club beats,
I got hip-hop music with the future flow,
So don't worry, even if the sky is falling down, down, down
Gonna be ok when it knocks you down, down, down,
So baby don't worry, it's alright, a-alright when it knocks you down
When you go down, when you go down down
No need to worry, just pick back up when you're tumbling down, down, down (down, down)
It's like I've been awakened
Every step I'm taking
Every rule I had you breaking
Every move I'm making
The risk that I'm taking
The chances I'm taking
With a big smile on my face
And it never seems out of place
Blame it on the pop, blame it on the dance, blame it on the rock and roll
Blame it on the rumba, so in sync with the symphonic soul
I like that pop, I like that bass, I like them rockin' electronic club beats
Blame it on the hip-hop music with the future flow
Baby, don't worry, it's alright, a-alright when it knocks you down
Somewhere far along this road,
Stressed out, I wanna let it go, I feel down, down, down (baby are you down, down, down, down, down)
And oh, (hey) I've been traveling on this road too long (too long)
Just trying to find my way back home (back home)
The old me is dead and gone, dead and gone
I gotta feeling
Woo hoo
I found God
Blame it on the pop, blame it on the dance, blame it on the rock and roll
Blame it on the feeling of the music deep insi-i-i-ide your soul
We got the pop, we got the dance, we got the rockin' electronic club beats
We got the hip-hop music with the future flow
People in the place
Put your put your hands in the air
Now put your hands up, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Forever united here,
Blame it on the po-po-po-po-poker face po-po-poker face
So live your life (hey!)
Let's live it up (Ho!)
If you wanna get down (Hey!)
down (Ho!) down (Hey!)
Muh muh muh muh (Ho!)
I wanna get down, (hey!) down, down (Ho!)
So baby, don't worry, it's alright, a-alright when it knocks you down
When you go down, when you go down down
No need to worry, just pick back up when you're
tumbling down, down, down (down, down)
Blame it on the pop, blame it on the dance, blame it on the boom boom boom
Gotta get that rumba, blame it on the 808 with the boom boom boom
Gotta get that pop, gotta get that dance, gotta get that boom boom pow
I gotta get, I gotta get this year's remix with the future sound.
I gotta feeling,
But I never really had a doubt,
that tonight's gonna be a good night,
that tonight's gonna be a good night,
and I say the same thing every single time
you know that I could use somebody, (woo hoo)
Open up your plans and damn your free (Hey!)
Look into your heart and you'll find love, love, love
Stop stop stop feeling down, down, down
Can't you see love, love love?
Isn't this easy feeling love, love love?
Down down down,
It's like I've been awakened
Can't you see every step I'm taking
Don't be afraid
The risk that I'm taking
Can't you see, I've had a little too much feeling
down, down, down
Can't you see every move I'm making
Every rule I had you breaking
Isn't this easy feeling love, love, love
We'll make it out of this mess.
Change your mind
Baby just say yes,
Da da da da da da da da da da.......
